Our engine data solution integrates GPS trip recording PLUS engine management system. It allows you to collect engine data and to set thresholds to better monitor engine performance. GO Engine systems have the capability of reading ECM codes from most source types (SAE J1708, OBDII, CANBUS and J1939).
These J1708/J1939/CANBUS Engine GPS units work either on most 6-pin or 9-pin connection of the diesel engine ECM or on most OBD/CAM ECM's of gas engines.
Think Out Of The Box:
The new CANBUS vehicle communication platform ties several sensors in the vehicle to a central computer. In addition to vehicle engine/drive train health, consider monitoring seatbelt use, passenger weight sensor or air bag to improve driver safety.
Active Faults:
Before the Check Engine Light is triggered on the instrument panel, the vehicle is busy with self-diagnosis and any faults that are found are delivered to the vehicle computer. Not all faults will cause the Check Engine Light to come on. The Check Engine Light will come on based on a number of factors including severity and frequency of the fault being generated. With newer CANBUS enabled vehicles, this self-diagnostic information includes engine, drivetrain as well as other components that are communicating to the central vehicle computer.
Our system will capture active faults as they are generated and will display them for a Service Technician so they may effectively take a vehicle out of service, often prior to the Check Engine Light coming on.
Threshold Alerts:
Our device is capable of recording active engine faults as well as your company customized thresholds for specific data requirements.
Thresholds are customer-defined and are driven by your top maintenance items. Our system enables flexibility for you to select the engine element you desire, you then select the frequency that you want to examine that element (Time between logs) and you set your desired operating threshold. Broken thresholds are reported in the Engine Management screen and they can be emailed to fleet if urgent.
Maintenance reminder feature:
The maintenance scheduler can help the user of the Geotab software to track vehicle maintenance, track drivers license expiry dates or end of lease dates. The reminders can be set in the distance driven, time elapsed and/or specified date functions.
