The Fuel Tax Act and the Gasoline Tax Act provide for a refund of the tax paid
on clear diesel, gasoline and propane (all referred to as "fuel") used in
Ontario to operate auxiliary equipment of a licensed motor vehicle through a
power take-off (PTO) operation. PTO refers to auxiliary equipment that is
dependent on fuel from the motor vehicle's operating tank for power. Examples
of PTO equipment include cement trucks, aerial buckets, reefer units and vacuum

This bulletin announces an increase in the power take-off fuel tax refund
allowance to 30 per cent of clear fuel consumed by ready mixed concrete trucks.

Application
for a Tax Refund respecting Fuel Used for Stationary Purposes
This application is to be completed to claim a refund of the fuel tax paid on
gasoline or non-coloured fuel oil used in Québec to supply the propulsion
engine of a motor vehicle. However, the refund applies only to the portion of
such fuel required to activate a vehicle's auxiliary equipment by means of a
power take-off.[...]
